Open Question: Wife Camping While Pregnant?
My wife and I have been planning on going camping with her family at a traditional spot since we met. We finally planned it for this year and have other family comitted to going. The trip is in Algonquin Canada, we have to canoe for 3 hours to get to the campsite, and there is a 1 hour hike to get there.
I am very nervous about this, as i am about every little thing that she does now that we have a little one on the way. I know we will be stopping and resting a LOT. (Her family will also be on board with that) I am very concerned about two things. Swimming in the lakes. And drinking water.
It is a 4 day camping trip and we will be able to carry about 10 liters of water with us. I dont belive that is enough. I want to know how to purify water to be drinkable for a pregnant woman. I have read that iodine should not be taken by pregnant women, so what other options are out there. Also, she wants to swim in the lakes, are there any kind of parasites or ticks or wierd things we should worry about out there?

She will only be carrying herself, and a camelback w/3L of water. I’ll be doing the rowing, i will be carrying the backpack/chairs/tent, and we will rest, and rest, and then rest. She and her family have been here multiple times also, im the newbie.
Open Question: Do i need to call her doctor?
Okay so today my mom invited us to the lake.. and she came to pick my daughter and i, so my boyfriend is the one who put my daughter car seat base and the car seat on my mom’s car.. so when my mom was driving my daughters car seat suddenly falls to the side my boyfriend didn’t strap the base tightly.. she was strapped tightly but like the the whole thing fall on the side of the window so she had to stop quickly so i could go back and put it on tightly..
she didn’t cry .. she was laughing.. but i am still worried a lot..
she is acting normal..
do you think it would have affected her brain or bones???
i am a first time so i worry a lot..
should i give her doctor a call?
she strapped correctly to the seat just the base was loose i am guessing.. so she didn’t fly or anything.. she was still in her car seat!
